Here’s something to think about… for all you incoming college seniors, these next 2 weeks could possibly be your last carefree days of summer for the foreseeable future. Yep, post-graduation you will undoubtedly join the ranks of the working world and start collecting those paychecks from that dream job Readyforce hooked you up with. For some of you that will even mean immediately following graduation, which of course is a good thing, but it will also mean ‘summer’ is no longer synonymous with ‘vacation’. Your future employer? Yeah, they operate 12 months out of the year.
So unless you stumble into one of those rumored workplaces that brags about having ‘Summer Fridays’, your ability to lose track of what day of the week it is about to come to a screeching halt. We’re not trying to bring anybody down here, quite the opposite, we just want to be sure that you spend these last days of summer with a renewed sense of appreciation for the potential they hold. Carpe diem if you will.
So you’ve got 2 weeks (14 days or 20,160 minutes left, however you want to look at it).
The question is… how will you spend them? What is on your Senior summer bucket list?
Here are a couple of suggestions:
- Go to a movie, in the middle of the day.
- Grab a sandwich, go to a park or the beach, kick your shoes off and take a nap, on a Tuesday.
- Go see another movie.
- Invite 5 friends over and have a BBQ
- Find the most ridiculous tourist trap in the neighborhood where you live and do whatever it is.
- Take a road trip, because you can.
- Do nothing. All day. But appreciate it.
Whatever is on your list, be sure that you have fun and of course be safe. We aren’t advocating for any crazy thrill seeking activities here.
THIS… does look fun though.
And PLEASE, whatever you put on your list… do not allow photos of yourself to contaminate your job seeking profile on the internet. Be smart, you are getting googled these days.
So tell us, what will you do to make your last days of summer count?
